Battery Box enclosure

Thank you very much!

Thx, good info.
So, the capacitance that is comes with the units is for the length of power wires on the ESC. If we remove 5 inches from those that is subtracted from the total - that is,y understanding.

What is the effect if you add too much capacitance, does it hurt efficiency? Example - I dont pay attention and estimate 4 extra inches too much and add an extra unnecessary 220uF. Or is it, just get it in the ball park- 1 or 2 inches does not matter give or take?

Cheers

More capacity will only add weight and $ but will not damage anything. I do not know about the used capacitors on the esc but usually around 70 deg C is the maximum recommended operating temperature so you could check first before you decide to add more capacitors. The temperature is a function of voltage ripple and frequency so it may increase if the internal resistance of the battery gets higher in time. Also the highest temperature is expected at the highest esc switching frequency, which is around 70 percent throttle.

The capacitors on the ESC should accommodate the power wires to the ESC as well as the length of a typical battery lead.
