Hi, I missed a take off, and (among other things) a spar (N°1) broke right at the frame level and a part of it is now blocked in the frame. Have you got an advice to take this off ? Thanks
Hi there,
Could you please add some pictures?
I have three with the same issue. My thought was to use a drill bit that is large enough to contact the inside of the spar but small enough to easily fit into the slot itself. Then slowly and carefully work the material out that way. Leery of wallowing out the slot, but I think it should work if I’m patient.
Use a drill with correct size to remove it.
Do not use drilling machine, use your own hand.
Try drilling a hole and tapping it, then either jack the part out with a screw or use the screw to pull the part out. It is much safer than trying to drill it out.
thanks, i’ll let you know how I will manage (or not) to do it. Don’t hesitate to add new ideas.
Just an update – Used a drill bit a little larger than the internal spar diameter. Came out super easy without damaging anything else.
Note: It was more of the “screw in and pull out” suggestion that Gonzo mentioned. Once the drill bit into the spar it just pulled out without fuss. I didn’t have to drill out the material into pieces, etc.
Hi, I didn’t take time to write an update. I took the material out with a mini-drill (for carving glasses for example) and sand paper. A long and painful task
