Has anyone installed or use a Beamer 3 Light rescue on the Powerseat Comfort harness ?
Would like to get some info or ideas on what to do with the carabiners and how the beamer toggles fit under the covers ?
I carry mine in a chest mount container and clip it in with carabiners into the red loops on the shoulder straps. I like having it as a chest mount with easy access for both hands. It also allows me to keep my reserve in the house when I’m not flying. It does add the extra preflight step of clipping in the reserve.
Thanks Justin, i have mine as a side mount. Unless I use some sort of soft link , the Beamer toggles do stick out past the harness pouch unless folded . Probably would work and fit properly with a regular rescue harness, but the Beamer 3 has steering toggles.
Any ideas for attaching method using softlinks ?
Yes, I also have the Beamer 3 Light.
I’m not sure if I follow you, but the toggles need to be stowed inside the deployment bag which is inside your reserve pouch. The Beamer toggles are attached to the risers until you yank them free following deployment. You can purchase an extension kit for the risers if you need (High Adventure Beamer 3 Extension Kit). I am not sure what the best way to mount a steerable to a side pouch, but it is certainly tricky to do correctly. You have to make sure both risers will be clear to the harness attachments during deployment. This is an easy task with a front mount, which is why I carry my Beamer that way.
Hi Jason,
Thanks for your guidance on this.
With side mount pouch the Beamer risers reach over the swing arm, down the front of the harness and attach at the harness shoulder points with Delta Mullions. This is where the steering handles are also stowed, however they are quite long and do stick out the top of the shoulder covers. Using soft links i could save a few inches and have it stowed properly, but i haven’t found any info on how its done. thanks again.
My steering handles are stowed inside my reserve pouch, and I would be extremely nervous for them to be exposed. I suppose for a side mount, there is no other way to do it, so I would go the soft link route like you said to ensure the handles stay inside the shoulder covers. I see a few different styles of softlinks on the superfly website, and the links have some diagrams showing how to properly close the softlink:
Actually … Looking at my power seat harness, the shoulder loops are right next to the shoulder covers and can tuck under the shoulder covers. In that case, it seems you would be able to completely tuck the steering toggles inside the shoulder covers using the metal maillons as connectors right?
Thanks Justin,
I will send you pics of what the attachment looks like on my set up.
Softlinks will definitely help and probably the way i’m going to go.

Good morning Justin, pics attached of the harness shoulder attachment to the Beamer risers.
