Received my new SP140 this week, got it assembled and took a first flight yesterday. What a great machine. I chose the small 2.6Kw battery for weight reasons (I’m 70 now) and still able to foot launch, although I have a trike which I mainly use it to drive down the road to my LZ. First flight using 80% of the battery (90-10) netted me 27 minutes so I’m also pleased with the duration.
What wing are you flying to get that much time on the half size battery?
I’m about 170lbs, fly a 23M Macpara Colorado. Don’t forget the new half size battery has a capacity of 2.6KWh and uses 24 pouch cells over the older half battery of 2.2KWh with18650 cells.
That looks like an awesome set up! Congratulations!
Can you share any information on the trike please?
Thank you
Interesting, what controller is that, does not look like it comed from APD. Is it the new sine-wave? I would love to hear the sound of the motor without the blades.
This is the new controller, I believe the new controller is a Sine FOC type. I’ll try to get a quick video.
I designed and built the trike myself, it weighs 15 lbs. Here is my build; Tiny Trike 2.0 | Flickr
Here is a video of the motor running. https://youtube.com/shorts/9lBUMh18xsk?feature=share
Cool, thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I think it Sounds different but not sure. Would be awsome to hear from folks who tried both.
So how does this compare to the Nitro?
More thrust, much quieter, and only a few pou ds heavier with the half size battery. The weight cg is closer and higher on your back so it actually feels lighter.
