Dual controls for tandem flights?

Is it possible to have two throttle controls for the 140?

The student one works, and then the instructor has another one;

The instructor’s controls would override the students

Has anyone done this before??

I would imagine you’re talking something completely custom from the current offering. The throttle controller and ESC are both essentially computers that are communicating with each other; you can’t simply splice in a second controller. There would likely be significant software challenges as well.

That being said, is that even a thing in typical PPG instruction? I’ve never heard of dual throttle controls for a tandem PPG. And how would the brake toggles work in this scenario? Or would the instructor only have dominant throttle control? IMHO, brake is more vital than throttle if you’re talking emergency scenario where the instructor needs to step in/override. Though I guess I can see the potential benefit of the instructor having easy access to a killswitch.

Is it technically feasible? Most likely. But I fear the challenge to get that to work would be high, and I’m unsure of the benefit realized.
