Battery error with new RP2040 throttle controller

Hi all,

I have an SP140 and was sent a new RP2040 throttle controller (with a USB-C port) to replace my old throttle controller that died. I’ve tried firmware version 5.9R and 6.0R. Both versions give me a BATTERY ERROR when I plug in a battery.

I know the batteries (two of them) are not actually the problem because they still work fine with my son’s SAMD2/CM0 throttle controller.

Is there a compatibility issue with the newer throttle controller? Does the ESC firmware need to be updated? (I looked into doing this, but wasn’t sure if I found the correct instructions, and also my laptop is a Macbook.)

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Scott

Yes the ESC firmware must be updated to the latest version for the telemetry to work.

Ok! Thank you! Are there instructions available anywhere?

yes you can see it here Firmware Installation - Advanced Power Drives
