I’m just assembling my new SP140 that came with the 4.8kwh updated battery. Should the standoffs be longer? The ones I received don’t allow the battery to fit between the frame and the motor. Also are there supposed to be safety straps as well as softlinks included? I only received softlinks and am trying to check the carabiner setup and reconcile it with the different unboxing versions.
Thanks.
Here is a video explaining the new parts for adapting to the new battery setup https://youtu.be/YK7zHnt3Rgs
The safety straps are built into the harness you can see that here https://youtu.be/b3571IcFlRY?si=DvM-aL_uoKjOpIRM&t=1461
Hello,
I’m pleased to hear more of the new battery setup. I was wondering, isn’t there a risk of internal condensation because of the new aluminium case of the battery ?
With the 4.8kwh battery, the cells are fully potted with a 2-part thermally conductive and electrically isolating silicon. So it added extra protection not just from moisture but also from vibrations. Its not necessary but we choose to add it at the cost of around 1kg more of weight.
Hi Paul,
Thanks for the quick response. I found the small offset pieces and got the battery set up after watching that video.
I’ve been looking all over my harness for a strap with a red and grey loop like in the video but can’t seem to find anything like that. I can upload a picture of my harness if that’s helpful.
Sure you can PM me a picture or send in an email info@openppg.com
Paul, could you link to step files of those clip on stand offs in your vid for not scratching the case please.
Sure you can see here
